David Ellis
painted an improvisational mural at Co-Lab in Austin, Texas.  Ellis has exhibited work around the world, including Paris, Tokyo, London, and in New York at the MoMA.  With titles like Paint on Trucks in a World in Need of Love, one would infer the these works are community-oriented.  And, he/she would be right.  Ellis likes having people surrounding his process, and is part of the notable group The Barnstormers out of NYC.  Co-Lab personifies friendliness with a vegetable garden growing in the back yard.  Ellis’ representational, colorful, owl diptych, thus, belongs at Co-Lab.  It sweetly unites Co-Lab, as if under one brightly lit mural, to its mission.  A photo of the mural can be seen at Austin from the Ground.com.
